The hotel's decoration was exquisite, with a charming mix of traditional and modern elements. The general areas were tastefully designed, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. As a senior woman, I found the hotel to be very accessible, with easy navigation and comfortable seating areas throughout.
It would have been even better if there were more handrails or grab bars in the hallways and rooms to assist senior guests. However, the children working there were always ready to lend a helping hand when needed.

I stayed at Hotel Franz for a short business trip and had a great experience. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast provided a good selection of hot and cold food, and the staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel is located in a peaceful area, with easy access to downtown and other areas of the city by tram. It was also a good value for the money.
I can recommend this hotel.

Stay in this hotel if you wish to explore folkwang museum. For dinner we chose Da Danielle, that was 900 feet from the venue: D

The hotel was clean and quiet. They had a nice selection at breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is still under construction in the the front. The hotel entrance is not very easy to find. I drove by it three times before giving up, just pulling in and asking the construction worker where to find the hotel only to realize I was there, just pull inot the back.

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The location on the outskirts of the city center was ideal for me as it was peaceful with a nearby park, yet transportation was easily accessible. The hotel facilities were clean and there was free parking available. The breakfast was excellent and the staff was very accommodating.
Nothing to be said.

The hotel is a subsidiary of a workshop for the handicapped. They employ 50% of handicapped persons and the hotel is built without barriers, with lines for blind persons, with overlong beds, emergency buttons in some of the rooms, etc. The concept itself is very interesting and it is quite special to experience this enviroment. It is nevertheless functionning as a fully professional hotel. It is very new and the service is very good.
The hotel is quite stilish, which some people might like, but for me a little bit more decoration in the room would make it much cozyer. If one wants go go to the fair, it is about 11 Euros by taxi. With public transport, one has to change three times. This is not negative by itself, but it is better to know beforehand in order to decide on which hotel is best. The Wifi only works in the lobby if it works. One can get internet cables for the rooms though. Mobile phones only seem to work outside of the hotel. These are nevertheless minor points.

The hotel is located on the outskirts of the city centre, but it is near to all attractions, including the Convention Centre. You can reach the fair from there by taxi easily. The rooms are stylish and clean, with comfortable beds, and the bathrooms have good showers. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is well-presented with a good variety of options. Plus, there is a local German restaurant nearby that has great food.
One minor downside is that the soap dispensers in the bathroom may be inconvenient for some guests who prefer traditional soap.

We recently had a romantic escape at a hotel in Essen. The breakfast was superb with a wide variety of options to choose from. We really enjoyed the peaceful location that allowed us to relax and unwind. , being close to a park made it easier to explore the surrounding area.
The internet connection was not stable and we had to constantly reconnect. the room we were given had a single bed when we had specifically booked a room with a double bed.
